ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
Ex-United first-team coach Meulensteen believes Sancho's style of play and the formations the Red Devils utilised under legendary boss Ferguson would have perfectly suited the 25-year-old. He also gave his take on why the winger is not likely to be a success in head coach Ruben Amorim's system.

WHAT MEULENSTEEN SAID
He told Listofsweepstakescasinos.com: "Jadon Sancho could have thrived under Sir Alex Ferguson where he doesn’t under Ruben Amorim. We would want wingers to get into 1v1s or 2v1s and that was the name of the game, stretching the play and taking people on, dragging players out of position to create space. In Amorim’s team, for the wing-backs to get into those positions you need the perfect pass and it’s easy for the opposition to anticipate."

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Sancho has proven to be one of United's most expensive failures in recent history, with the England international costing them £73 million ($98.5m), while scoring just 12 goals and adding six assists. Chelsea passed up the chance to sign him after a season-long loan there, and it seems the ex-Borussia Dortmund man will be moved on this summer.

WHAT NEXT?
Sancho, who is attracting interest from Serie A teams, is approaching the last year of his United contract. It seems the ex-Manchester City academy player may have played his last United game but his next move remains uncertain.
